Job Description

The firm consists of a group of companies is responsible for restaurants, catering, food and recipe development, books, television, food and non-food products, endorsements, PR, marketing and syndication throughout the world. Within the group there are a range of businesses which span across various industries such as hospitality, retail, TV, consumer goods, graphic design, publishing and catering.

 Responsibilities :

1.     Production of management accounts on a timely basis (profit and loss statement and balance sheet)
2.    Producing monthly board packs to ensure the profit and loss movements are explained with business acumen
3.    Production of daily and weekly KPI reports for the Executive team
4.    Ensure cash control of the business is robust and any differences are managed with the treasury team to minimize cash write offs
5.    Ensure all intercompany balances are reconciled and completed on a timely manner
6.    Business Partner with the operational leads to ensure P/L is reasonably stated with variances explained and documented
7.    Statutory VAT and corporate tax returns produced on a timely basis
8.    Lead on management account audits from a profit and loss statement perspective
9.    Project lead on system and process improvements and is able to lead the management accounting team through a period of rapid change and new implementations
10.  Able to produce variance analysis between actual and budget results and is able to investigate and set tight controls to work with the budget holders to ensure they are met on a monthly basis
11.  Able to run and set up KPI reports and explain reasons for movements on a month to month basis
12.  Handle insurance related matters and be the key contact for insurance
13.  Able to work with the Head of Commercial Finance to support the FD in delivering deadlines on a timely basis
14.  Other adhoc tasks.

 

The Person:

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Head of Management Accounts is a person with solid accounting technical skills (qualified accountant, IFRS proficient) and is able to produce monthly management packs with the in depth knowledge of the business and is able to work with the management team in driving the P/L of the business in accordance with business strategy.

The role requires an organized and attention to detail candidate who is able to work under pressure and in a fast paced working environment.

Great interpersonal skills and able to work with Operational team and the executive team to be able to investigate differences.

System Knowledge

 SAGE Line 50, HSBC Net,  Micros and Tevalis.
