Job Description

Our client is a large global entity with numerous offices across the UK.  They are seeking a Senior Associate/Manager with tax experience to join their employment tax team.

Tax can offer a surprisingly broad range of quality career paths to ambitious people, alongside a clear progression channel, especially within this large firm.

You will be working in large team on a variety of different clients focusing on employment tax and reward issues such as:

  • Advising clients of potential pay and benefit options
  • Design and implementation of a range of structures including share based reward, salary sacrifice, flexible benefits etc.
  • Providing advice to large employers in respect of PAYE and NIC matters.
  • Assisting clients with HMRC investigations and liaising with the tax authorities on their behalf.
  • Undertaking large projects where HMRC requirements have to be met.
  • Developing expenses & benefits policies and procedures.
  • Supporting larger employers with the implementation of their solutions to payroll, pension auto enrolment, and flexible benefits.
  • Due diligence work in order to identify any material exposure to unpaid tax/NIC which may affect the proposed transaction e.g. acquisitions or mergers.

Ideally you will have 2-5 years’ experience within a consulting or legal background, (i.e. employment solicitor, employment tax advisor etc.)

This role will require the ability to build relationships both internally and externally.

The role will suit candidates who have most, if not all, of the following:

  • An understanding of the various forms of reward which might be provided by employers.
  • A good understanding of the current law and practice in respect of employment tax and NIC in the UK; preferably a formal qualification (ATT).
  • Be curious and willing to learn new skills and take on new experiences.
