Job Description

With a rapidly growing global operation and one of the most highly regarded reputations in their sector, this management consultancy is looking to boost their infrastructure and core teams with only the best talent. With maintenance and improvement of business value being the predominant focus, they remain leaders in the complex markets they operate within, such as, legal, regulations, corporate finance, technology and communications. With a workforce of over 4,500 professionals, who operate across 27 locations worldwide, their reach and expertise are constantly growing. This enables them to adapt in complex situations and overcome any challenges they encounter, in areas such as restructuring, litigation, M&A, regulatory issues, investigations and reputation management.

Due to their continuing success, the corporate finance and restructuring team are now looking to add key heads to further their growth. This sector dominating practice assists businesses across the EMEA region, providing support for debtors, creditors and other stakeholders. Situations may include liquidity problems, over-leverage, under-performance, right-sizing or other business transition issues. Global headcount for this division stands at around 800 restructuring specialists, with the high-performing European team standing just below 60.

Responsibilities for the role;

They are looking for an experienced restructuring professional, who’s preferred focus would be on contingency planning and insolvency but is also be able to assist and perform restructuring advisory and/or IBR projects.

Contingency planning/ insolvency projects:

  • Assisting to develop a strategic and or operational contingency plan, including transaction structuring work
  • Preparing a (or overseeing the preparation for) a pre-appointment estimated outcome analysis
  • Communicating with managers, lenders and stakeholders for project and situation progress
  • Complete management for life-cycle of appointment, including post-appointment management

Restructuring advisory/ IBR:

  • Analysis of fundamental business operations, unearthing reasons for variances and underperformance
  • Preparing effective and optimal business strategies
  • Analysis of complex data through interpretation of project results
  • Communicating with client contacts, may include both written and oral presentations.
  • Preparation of reports of results and findings

 

 

 

 

Other responsibilities and Ad-hoc duties:

  • Assisting and preparing formal pitch documents and presentations
  • Representing the company by attending and organising industry events
  • Mentoring and coaching other members in the team, sharing experience and knowledge for the development of projects
  • Managing and developing the structure for engagement, regarding scope and project delivery
  • Maintaining and efficient work and project flow, adhering to deadlines and timeframes
  • Keeping and managing budgets in alignment with wider team and concurrent projects
  • Forming initial views and opinions on the engagement to debate with either lead MD or SMD

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualified
  • JIEB qualification preferred (not essential)
  • Corporate contingency planning & insolvency focus (And experience)
  • General restructuring skills and experience
  • Experience working with a reputable restructuring team
  • Willingness to develop and learn new skills
  • Relevant and topical knowledge of the restructuring industry and recent transactions/ news
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proactive approach to team working environment and multi-tasking situations
  • Must be computer literate with strong excel, and PowerPoint skills
  • Preparation of reports, both for peer and senior assessment
  • 3 to 5+ years post qualification experience
  • Delivery and management of restructure/ advisory work
  • Team management and development experience
  • Presentation skills – delivery of findings to key contacts, both internal and external
