There has been a noticeable increase in the appetite for tax knowledge.  A number of our clients who would normally bite our hands off for solely consulting trained specialists in executive compensation or broad based reward, are now noticing the increased importance of taxation and regulatory experience. The law has a way of governing the direction of consulting workflows and hiring those with aptitude in navigating legislative changes are very attractive to our clients currently.

As a result of senior movement in the executive remuneration market, alongside review periods commencing, we are seeing an incline in the market and many more opportunities for all levels.


Insolvency and Restructuring

Corporate insolvency work across the UK has seen an upturn in recent months with London firms in particular being very active in adding core case handlers to their teams. Conversely, individual insolvencies have dropped significantly over the last few years, with seriously reduced revenues generated in this regard. Steady streams of restructuring and advisory work has been a key feature in the UK market of late. It appears that most qualified accountants with an insolvency background are have aspirations to work on advisory projects. Private Equity houses more than accountancy firms are at the top of most restructuring professionals’ lists of places to work, and they are beginning to invest in their advisory teams.
