Do I need a CTA qualification to move firms?
Possessing a CTA is a great indication of one’s level of TAX knowledge; however it is not always an essential requirement for a new role. Experience within VAT, exposure to complex work and other qualifications such as the AIIT are all considered and we regularly place candidates in junior and senior roles without a CTA qualification.
I specialise in “X”, can I move over to “Y”?
There is no hard and fast rule on movement within indirect tax specialist areas, but at the senior end it can become more difficult to transfer over to a new area. We have helped many people move to an area of focus that suits their interests and skill set. So in short, yes – it is possible to move from “X” to “Y”.
Which areas of indirect tax do you recruit for?
Beyond our biggest area of expertise, VAT, we also recruit for Customs, Insurance Premium Tax, Supply Chain/Securities and we have moved Indirect Tax specialists into in-house and legal positions.
